Image Quality Adjustments

You can adjust image quality to the level best suited for a document with text or

photos.Three modes are available for adjusting image quality: text, text/photo,

and photo.

Press [Image Quality] to select the image quality.

Each time you press [Image Quality], the image quality mode changes as follows:

•<TEXT>

Suitable for making copies from text originals. Good copies can be made from

even blueprints or faint pencil drawn originals.

•<TEXT/PHOTO>

Suitable for making copies from originals containing both text and photos or

photo originals containing halftones (i.e., printed photos).

•<PHOTO>

Suitable for making copies from photos printed on photographic paper.

• Copy exposure automatically changes to manual mode when you set the image

quality to <TEXT/PHOTO> or <PHOTO>.

• To sharpen the black and white contrast of an image, adjust the image as

follows:

Special Copying Features Collating Copies Load documents face down in the ADF. Press [Collate]. Page Place the next page of the document on the platen glass press [Start]. Image Combination (2 on 1 Copy) The imageRUNNER 1670F/1630 models have an ADF. Press [2 on 1]. Load documents face down in the ADF. Use the numeric keys to set the copy quantity. Press [2 on 1]. Use the numeric keys to set the copy quantity. Place the last page of a document on the platen glass. Press [Start] twice. Place the next page of the document on the platen glass press [Start]. Press [Set] to finish the 2 on 1 copy function. Reserved Copying Reserving the Next Copy Job Press [Stop/Reset] twice while the machine is printing. Place the document to be reserved face down on the platen glass or in the ADF. Set the desired copy features. Confirming the Copy Job You Reserved Press [Stop/Reset] while the machine is printing. Press [4] or [e] to confirm the reservation number, time, and number of documents. Press [Stop/Reset] to return the machine to the Standby mode. Page Two-Sided Copying Load the first page of the document face down in the ADF press [Start] to begin copying. Load the next page of the document in the ADF. Grip the paper drawer handle, and pull it towards you until the paper drawer comes to a stop. Open a package of paper,and remove a stack of paper. Load the paper stack under the paper drawers length guide and width guides . Gently insert the paper drawer as far as it will go.
