Sending a Fax
The follow ing is a d escript ion of the basic pr ocedure f or sendin g a fax. For more i nformatio n on the s ettings, see the
reference s in each step.

Place your originals.
For bound or irregular sized originals, p lace them
on the platen glass.

Registering a Destination

Before you can use one-touch speed dialing, you
need to register the recipien ts’ fax/telephone
numbers. You can register up to 60 number s for one-
touch speed dialing.
Before you can use coded speed dialing, you need
to register the recipients’ fax /telephone number s.
You can register up to 140 numbers for coded spe ed
dialing.

Press [FAX] to switch to the fax mod e.
If ID Management is set, it is necessar y to enter
an ID and password. (If an optional card r eader
is attached, insert a control c ard.)
Before you can use group dialing, you need to
register the recipients’ fax /telephone number s. You
can register up to 199 groups, which can in clude
one-touch speed dialing keys and /or coded speed
dialing codes. Each time you progra m a one-touch
speed dialing key or coded spee d dialing code, the
amount of available group dials is reduc ed by one.
