Instructions
Selecting Print MediaFollow these guidelines when selecting envelopes and transparencies:
■Envelopes
• Use standard envelopes with diagonal seams and flaps.
• To prevent jams in the multipurpose tray, do not use the following:
– Envelopes with windows, holes, perforations, cutouts, and double flaps
– Envelopes made with special coated paper or deeply embossed paper
– Envelopes with peeloff sealing strips
– Envelopes with letters enclosed
• You may be able to load other size envelopes than those listed on the previous
page. However, Canon cannot guarantee consistent performance on these.
■Transparencies
• Use only special laser printer transparencies.
Loading EnvelopesFollow this procedure to load up to 7 envelopes in the multipurpose tray:
For paper guidelines, see Chapter 5.
When printing on envelopes, be sure to use faceup delivery ( p.54).
• When printing on transparencies, be sure to use faceup delivery ( p.54).
• To prevent the transparency from curling, remove it as soon as it exits the FAX and
place it on a flat surface to cool.
1Prepare the envelopes.
❏Arrange the stack of envelopes on a
firm, clean surface, and press down
firmly on the edges to make the folds
crisp.
• Press all the way around the
envelopes to remove any curls
and expel air from inside the
envelopes. Also, press firmly on
the area that corresponds to the
edges of the back flap.
