radius-server deadtime

To improve RADIUS response times when some servers are unavailable and cause the unavailable servers to be skipped immediately, use the radius-server deadtime command in global configuration mode. To set deadtime to 0, use the no form of this command.

radius-server deadtime minutes

Syntax Description

minutes

Length of time, in minutes, for which a RADIUS server is skipped over by transaction

 

 

requests, up to a maximum of 1440 (24 hours). The range is from 1 to 1440. The default

 

 

value is 0.

Usage Guidelines

 

To use this command, you must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes the proper

 

 

task IDs. For detailed information about user groups and task IDs, see the Configuring AAA Services on

A RADIUS server marked as dead is skipped by additional requests for the duration of minutes unless

 

 

all other servers are marked dead and there is no rollover method.
