TO LOCK MITER TABLE

The miter table slidesto let the operatorslide the
workpieceacross thesaw. Amiter slide lock is
mounted on the front of the miter table to lock it in
place.The miter slide lock is placed ina sloton the
base to align the mitertable withthe front edge of the
saw table. The slidingmiter table should be lockedfor
any cut in which the operatorprefers a fixed table.
To lock the miter table with the base proiectingto
the front, place miter slide lock inthe back slot on
the base.
To lock the mitertable withthe base projecting to
theback, place miter slide lock in the front sloton
the base.
C. MAKING CUTS
The blade provided with your saw is a high-quality
carbide tippedcombination b_ade suitableforripping
and crosscut operations. Check with your Sears Retail
Store for other recommended blades.
,_. WARNING: All blades must be rated for at least
5,500 RPM to prevent possibleinjury.
TO MAKE ASTRAIGHT CROSS CUT

It isrecommended you make test cuts on scrapwood.

when crosscutting.
,_, WARNING: Make surethe blade guard
assembly is installedand working properly to
avoid seriouspersonal injury.
Remove the rip fence by lifting the locking handle.
Set the blade tothe correctdepth for the
workpiece.
Set the miterfence to 90 degrees with the quick-
stopor the miter scale.
Make sure the miterfence won't touch the blade
whilefeeding the wood. Make atrial pass of the
mitertable. The miter fence should notcontact the
blade. Loosen the adjustingclampto movethe
fence if needed.
Place a support (the same height as saw table)
behind the saw for the cut work. See Quick Fold
Table in Accessories on page 9.
Make sure the wood is clear ofthe blade before
turning on the saw.
Toturn sawOn, lift switch cover and'press switch
button. Then lower switch cover.
