nent documentation for configuration information.
SAN-Attached Clusters
SAN attached clusters are cluster configurations where redundant Fibre Channel
HBAs are cabled to a redundant Fibre Channel switch fabric. Connecting the cluster to
the storage system is achieved through the switch fabric. These SAN-attached config-
urations can share certain resources with other servers, storage systems, and backup
systems on the SAN.
In a SAN-attached cluster configuration, all of the cluster nodes are attached to a sin-
gle PowerVault storage system or to multiple PowerVault storage systems through a
PowerVault SAN using a redundant Fibre Channel switch fabric. One or more
PowerVault Fibre Channel switches make up a Fibre Channel switch fabric.
Figure10-1 shows an advanced SAN-attached cluster configuration using four-node
clustering.
