qThe escape sequence for font selection is ESC f N.

qSelecting or canceling proportional spacing is not supported.

qDisabling the paper-out detection is not supported.

Motion Indexes

The Model 855 WP emulation mode uses motion indexes to specify certain horizontal and vertical parameters. These motion indexes are established by character pitch and line spacing commands described later in this chapter.

The horizontal motion index and vertical motion index are abbreviated, respectively, as HMI and VMI. Their definitions are as follows.

qHMI — The horizontal distance between two adjacent characters. The HMI range is 0 through 254/120 (0 through 2.12) inches in increments of 1/120 inch.

qVMI — The vertical distance between two adjacent print lines. The VMI range can be either of the following, depending upon the escape sequence used to establish the VMI.

—0 through 84/48 (0 through 1.75) inches in increments of 1/48 inch

—0 through 254/144 (0 through 1.62) inches in increments of 1/144 inch
