Selecting Character Sets
By changing the setting of the DIP switches, you can select one of eight international character sets and one of two character tables. Once you have set the DIP switches for a certain character set, that set is the default character set; it remains valid even after the printer is turned off, reset, or intialized. Software commands however, override DIP switch settings until they are cancelled or the printer is turned off, reset, or intialized.
To change the setting of a DIP switch, first turn off the printer. Set the DIP switch, and then turn the printer back on.
