8.4 Ramp and Soak Program

The ramp and soak program featurefor the 9150 allows the user to program a

number of set-points, cyclethe furnace automatically between th etemp eratures

at a scan rate set by the user,and hold the furnace at each temperature for a pe-

riod of timeset by the user. The user can select one of four different cycle func-

tions. The Ramp and Soak Menu isaccessed by pressing “SET” and “UP”

simultaneously.

8.4.1 Program Points

The 9150 contains eight“program points”.Each program pointcontains a

set-point,scan rate, and soak time. When the unit is in program mode the unit

heats or cools to the current program set-pointat the current program scan rate.

Once the program set-point is reached the unit waits for the program soak time

before heating or cooling to thenext program set-point. To access the Ramp

and Soak Program Menupress “SET” and “UP” simultaneously.

8.4.2 Number of Program Points

The firstparameter in the program menu is the number of program points to cy-

clethrough. Up to 8 set-points can be used in a ramp and soak program.

Use the“UP” and “DOWN”buttons to change the program points. The valid

range is from2 to 8.

Press “SET” to continue.Pressing “EXIT” causes anychanges made to the pa-

rameter to be discarded.

SAccept the new number of program points.
