Using VFR recordings in NLEs
Use the Base Frame Rate for the NLE’s timeline setting.
For example, if the Base Frame Rate is 720/24P and the
Incoming Frame Rate is set to 48 or 12, the timeline preset to
use is 720/24P.
A real-time recording has an equivalent Base Frame Rate and
Incoming Frame Rate.
When using VFR recordings in editing, the real-time recordings
must match the VFR recording's DV FORMAT and Base Frame
Rate.
For example, when editing with VFR recordings that have the
DV FORMAT of QUICKTIME PN and a Base Frame Rate of 720/
24P, then the real-time recordings must be made with
QUICKTIME PN as the DV FORMAT and a Base Frame Rate of
720/24P and the VFR MODE set to OFF.
This insures that the VF and real-time recordings can be used
in the same timeline without rendering.
Camera Resolution must be set to 720P mode:
The camera resolution must to set to the corresponding 720P mode and
NOT the 720PN mode for VFR recordings.
