CHAPTER 14 Troubleshooting

Power, fan, environmental alarms

With a redundant configuration, if a power supply unit’s failure occurs while the system is running, the system will display a message on operating system and will continue to running. However, a message may not be displayed for a non-redundant configuration, and the system will shut down immediately. The same applies to the fan failure. To identify the cause of the problem, message log file may be useful if the system can restart. The causes of this type of event are therefore continuously reported on the LCD panel after the system is powered down. However, the messages on the LCD panel will disappear if the Main Line switch is turned off.
