You can perform text recognition when scanning documents. Doing so can make a searchable PDF file (OCRs during scan).

Operation

1. Right-click the ScanSnap icon S , and select "Settings."

2. Click the [File Option] tab, and then select "PDF" from the "File format" drop-down list.

3. Mark the checkbox in order to "Searchable PDF (OCRs during scan)."

When performing text recognition for all pages, select "All pages" or for the first page, select "First page" on the tab.
