
Hard drive
NOTE: All hard drive spare part kits include a hard drive bracket.

Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1.Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.Remove the battery (see Battery on page 41).
5.Remove the switch cover and keyboard (see Switch cover and keyboard on page 42).
6.Remove the palm rest (see Palm rest on page 50).
Remove the hard drive:
1.Position the computer with the front toward you.
2.Loosen the two Phillips PM2.0×4.0 screws (1) that secure the hard drive to the computer.
3.Loosen the Phillips PM2.5×10.0 captive screw (2) that secures the hard drive to the computer.
4.Grasp the Mylar tab (3) on the hard drive and slide the hard drive to the right to disconnect it from the system board.
