Using the HP Setup Program

The Setup Configuration Summary

Within a field selects the next lower value and selects the next higher value.

displays a sub-menu for menu items marked with a solid right arrow .

or + allows you to exit from a sub-menu.

The and arrows select menus from the menu bar.

loads factory-installed default values.

restores previous values from CMOS.

or + displays the general help screen.

exits from the general help screen.

Use the key to exit Setup without saving any changes.

Use the key to save your settings and exit Setup.

Pressing the or arrow keys while you are on a main menu screen, will take you to the next menu option. If, however, you are on a sub-menu screen and you press these arrows, you will stay on that screen.

Use the and arrow keys to scroll through the items on the general help screen.

You can view a summary of the PC’s configuration if you have chosen to view the POST tests. A summary screen is displayed when the POST has completed. It is displayed for a few seconds only, but you can “freeze” it so that you can verify the configuration. Press the Pause/Break key to “freeze” the summary screen. When you have finished reading the summary, press any key to continue.

Setup changes system behavior by modifying the power-on initialization parameters. Setting incorrect values may cause system boot failure. Should this occur, press . This will load Setup default values to recover.
