The Private Key File

Private Key File Contention

In cases where a user is running multiple CDSA applications, it is possible that private key ﬁle contention will occur. The HP-UX CSPs employ an interlock mechanism to insure that the private key ﬁle will be accessed in an atomic action. Application developers should be aware that the efﬁciency of the interlock algorithms may be inadequate to support very high speed server applications. In these cases it will be necessary for the application developer to engineer their own private key handling facility that is optimized for their particular application domain.
