3 Getting Started

3.1 Connecting the Cables

Figure 3-1 shows the cable connections of the HG612.

1.	Telephone jack on the wall	2.	Gateway

3.2 Powering on the HG612

To power on the HG612, press the POWER button on the top of the HG612.

After you power on the HG612, the DSL indicator blinks in green, which indicates that the HG612 is performing line training. After the DSL indicator stops blinking, the POWER and DSL indicators turn on, which indicates that the HG612 is working properly.
