AC Adapter Checkout: You are here because the
WorkPad z50 fails only when the AC Ad apt er is us ed.
• If the power problem occurs onl y wh en th e cr ad l e is
used, replace the cradl e.
• If the power-on indic ator for the AC Adapter does not
turn on, check the power cord of the AC Adapt er for
correct continuity and i nstallation.
1. Unplug the AC Adapter c able from the WorkPad z50
and measure the output voltage at th e plug of the AC
Adapter cable. See the following f igur e:

a. If the voltage is correct , replace the mainboar d.
b. If the voltage is still incorrect, go to the next step.
2. Unplug the AC Adapter c able from the ac pow er
outlet and wait 5 minutes or longer to all ow the
overvoltage protection circ uit or other protection
circuits to be fully dis charged and initialized.
3. Plug the AC Adapter c able into the ac power out let.
4. Measure the output voltage of th e AC Ad apt er.
5. If the voltage is still not corr ect, replace the AC
Adapter.
Note: An audible noise from th e AC Adapter does not
always indicate a defect.
