Important

• Only certified trained personnel should service
the computer.
• Read FRU service proced ures before replacin g
any FRUs.
• Replace FRUs only for the correct mo del.
When you replace the FRU, make sure the model
of the machine and FRU part number ar e c orr ec t
by referring to the parts list.
• FRUs should not be replaced becaus e of a
single, unreproducible failure. Single failures
can occur from a variety of reasons th at have
nothing to do with a hardware problem, such as
cosmic radiation, electr ostatic discharge, or
software errors. FRU r eplacement should be
considered only when a recurrin g pr obl em exists.
If this is suspected, cl ear the log error and r un the
test again. Do not replace any FRUs if log err ors
do not appear.
• Be careful not to replace a nondefectiv e FRU.
