Backup Battery Checkout(Nonrechargeable)
If removing all power sources except for the backup battery
results in the system being res et, suspect a problem with the
backup batteries. Refer to the following:
1. Enter suspend mode by pressing the Power butt on.

2. Remove the AAA batter ies and measure the v oltage

between the battery ter minals. The voltage s hould be
1.1–1.6 V dc per battery.
If the voltage is correct , replace the mainboar d.
If the voltage is less t han 1.1 V dc per batter y, then
the batteries have been discharged. Replace t he
batteries.
If the backup battery discharges quickly after
replacement, replace th e mainboard.
Note: Make sure either the battery pack is installed or
the AC Adapter is connected. If th e backup
batteries are removed and no oth er pow er
source is available (AC Adapter or b att ery pack),
the system is reset, and all the stored d ata is
lost.
The Battery Calibration Application
The

application tests the battery to
ensure that it charges t o its full capacity. You must first
connect the AC Adapter before you us e th e B att er y
Calibration application. Clic k Start, Programs, Work Pad.
Click the Battery Calibration icon to op en th e "B attery
Calibration" window:
Press the Start button to begin the progr am. You will see
the following dialog wi ndow:
Note: If the AC Adapter is not c onnected when you
start the Battery Calibration ap pl ication, you will
see a dialog window prompting you to connect it
before you continue.
