ŸIf the problems still persist, go to “Undet Problems” on page 38.

Note: An audible noise from the AC Adapter does always indicate a defect.

Checking operational charging:To check

(Battery ASM) or a			Battery	ASM	that	has less		th

Perform	operational		charging.	If	the	battery		st

remove the Battery ASM and let it return							to	roo
ature. Reinstall the Battery ASM. If the							charg
icon still does not turn on				or still		does	not	sho
color, replace		the	Battery	ASM.
If the	charge	indicator still			does	not	turn	on,

reinstall the	Battery ASM.	If	the reinstalled Ba
not charged,	go to the	next	section.

Checking the Battery ASM: After the battery is

fully	charged, charger can			not	charge	battery
Gauge	shows that	less	than	95% of total power r
with	this condition	the	battery		pack	can charge

its capacity. This protects the Battery ASM fro

overcharged or from		having	a shortened life.
Note: The Battery	ASM	might	not be able to charg
when it is hot. In that case, remove it
computer and leave it at room temperature
while. After	it	cools	down, reinstall it and
it.

Do the following:

1.Power off the computer.

2.Remove the battery pack and measure the v between battery terminals 1 (+) and 7 (-). lowing figure.
