LCD replacement notice

The TFT LCD for the computer contains many thin-fil

transistors	(TFTs).	A	small	number of	missing, disco
or lighted	dots	(on	all	the time)	is characteri

LCD technology, but excessive pixel problems can viewing concerns. The LCD should be replaced if number of missing, discolored, or lighted dots in ground is:

ŸSVGA (12.1"): 5 or more bright dots, 5 or m

dots, or a total of 9 or more bright and

ŸXGA (14.1"/15.0"): 8 or more bright dots, 8

dark dots, or a total of 9 or more bright

Screw notices

This computer uses special nylon-coated screws wi following characteristics:

Ÿ They maintain tight connections.

ŸThey do not easily come loose, even with sh vibration.

Ÿ	They	need	additional	force to tighten.
Ÿ	They	should	be used	only once.

Do the following when you service this machine:

Ÿ Keep the screw kit (P/N 08K5877) in your tool

Ÿ Always use new screws if you are instructed

ŸUse a torque screwdriver if you have one.

Loose screws can cause a reliability problem. T ThinkPad computer addresses this problem with nylo coated screws. Tighten screws as follows:

Ÿ Plastic	to plastic
Turn an	additional90 degrees	after	the screw hea
touches	the surface	of the	plastic part:
