Removing theMainBattery
Thefollowingstepsonpages2-8 and2-9,detail howto
removethemainbattery,checkhowmuchpowerthebat-
terycontains,andreplacethebatterypack.
"NOTE:If you are using Windows95,ensurethatyou shutdownthatopera-
tion beforeremoving the batterypack.Otherwise,yourcomputerwill
treat thisasacrash.
1.Press andhold downontheReleaseButton(see
Figure2-6,Figure2-7 and pages2-8,and2-9,for
batterycompartmentdetails).Thiscausesyour com-
putertogointoasuspendmodeandmakes sureyou
donotloseyourdata.
2.SlidetheBatteryLatchtowardsthereleasebutton
andremovethebattery.
