Ifyourhand-heldcomputergoesintoashutdownmodebe-
cause oflowbatterycondition,dataisprotectedbythe
backupbattery.Yourcomputer containstwo100 mAhour
vanadiumlithiumbackupbatteries.Thebackupbattery
chargesitself from themainpackorachargingsourcesoit
isconstantlyreadytotake overdataprotection.
Thisuser’sguidewill occasionallyusetheterm “cycles”
whenpresentingrechargeablebatteryinstructions.Cycles,
arethenumberoftimestherechargeablebatterypackcan
bechargedand discharged duringthelife ofbattery.The
LithiumIonrechargeablebatterydesign,usedinthemain
pack,shouldgiveyouapproximately500 cyclesofuse.
Therearenoguaranteesonthisnumberbecauseitdepends
greatlyon howthebatterypackisusedandcaredfor.

Three typesofmemoryareavailablewiththiscomputer:

MainMemory

StandardmainmemoryDRAM configurationis8mega-
bytes(MB),thiscanbe extendedto16,or32 MBs.Main
memorywasorderedat thetimeyourunitwaspurchased.
Youareabletoupgradetoalargermemorysizebyhavinga
newmemoryboardinstalledatyourCustomerSupport
Center.
Themainmemoryisprotectedbythebackupbatterydur-
inglowmainbatteryconditionsorwhenthemainbattery
packisremoved.
