" To test the modem string, do the following:

a.Press the [F2] key. The computer replies with “PLEASE WAIT” and tests the string:

Momentarily, the computer displays the modem’s response:

RESULT: 97

[F2]TEST STRING [ENT]OK [ESC]QUIT

"NOTE: Zero indicates the modem was successfully configured. Any other value indicates an error. See page B-13 for a list of modem errors. If you purchased this modem from the Norand Mobile Systems Divi- sion, contact Customer Response Center at 800-755-5505 (U.S.A. or Canada) or 425-356-1799.

If this modem is not from the Norand Mobile Systems Division, con- tact your modem supplier.

b.Press the [ENT] key to update the modem initialization string. The computer returns to the “Modem Parameters” pop-up menu with OTHER EXTERNAL or OTHER INTERNAL assigned.
