Starting to Sew

Always test sew on scraps of the same fabric that you will be using. Place the fabric scrap under the presser foot and needles.

For the best results, sew on light to medium weight fabrics.

Swing up the presser foot lever to lower the presser foot.

Hand turn the handwheel to form the first few stitches. Start sewing slowly and gradually increase sewing speed.

Hand guide the fabric gently while sewing. Check the stitch formation. If the stitch has irregularities, check the threading.

When you reach the end of the fabric, continue running the machine slowly to produce a thread chain for about 10 cm (4”) while pulling the threads gently to the back. Cut the threads with the thread cutter.
