Recording (HDD Deck)
●AL-1B, AL-2B or AF-1B has been selected as the input mode.
NSet to the desired channel.
●The camcorder has not been properly connected.
NConfirm that the camcorder is properly connected.
●The input mode is not correct.
NSet the input mode to AF-1B. (Apg. 62)
Timer Recording
●Date and time is not correct.
NSet date and time correctly. (Apg. 77)
●Timer recording is in progress.
NTimer programming can’t be performed while a timer recording
is in progress. Wait until it finishes.
●Date and time is not correct.
NSet date and time correctly. (Apg. 77)
●Date and time set on the unit is not correct.
NSet date and time correctly. (Apg. 77)
●The channel position does not correspond to that in the
receiving area.
NSet the correct channel position for the receiving broadcast.
(Apg. 73)
●The unit’s channel positions have been set incorrectly.
NRefer to ASHOWVIEW System SetupB (Apg. 73) and reperform
the procedure.
●The satellite receiver is not connected properly to this unit.
NConnect the satellite receiver to the [L-2 IN/DECODER]
connector properly. (Apg. 49)
●Power failure occurred.
NSet date and time correctly. (Apg. 77)
●32 programmes have already been timer programmed.
NClear unnecessary programmes on the unit, then try timer
programming again. (Apg. 48)
●The PC’s data recorded on a DVD-RAM drive cannot be
cleared on this unit.
NFormat the disc. (When the disc is soiled, wipe the disc with a
soft dry cloth before formatting.) (Apg. 9, 78)
Other Problems
For basic connection
NPress PROGRESSIVE SCAN for 3 or more seconds so that the
Video output indicator (q) lights off on the front display panel.
For component video connection
NPress PROGRESSIVE SCAN for 3 or more seconds so that the
Video output indicator (q) lights up on the front display panel.
●The camcorder’s microphone is too close to the TV.
NPosition the camcorder so its microphone is away from the TV.
●The TV’s volume is too high.
NTurn the TV’s volume down.
●Those channels have been designated to be skipped.
NIf you need the skipped channels, restore them. (Apg. 75)
●Recording or RetroActive recording* is in progress.
NPress W to pause recording, change the channel, then press I
to resume recording.
* HDD deck only
●After the manual settings were made, Auto Channel Set was
performed.
NPerform AClock SetB (Apg. 77).
NReset the unit by disconnecting the AC power plug from the AC
outlet and connect again.
TV broadcasts cannot be recorded.
Camcorder recording is not possible.
Timer programming cannot be made.
Timer programming recording does not start.
SHOWVIEW Timer Programming cannot be made.
The SHOWVIEW system does not timer record properly.
Automatic Satellite Programme Recording does not start.
On the front display panel, A––:––B appears.
APROGRAMME FULLB appears on the TV screen during timer
programming.
The disc space does not increase when recorded titles are
cleared.
The image of the TV broadcast appears distorted on the TV
screen.
Whistling or howling is heard from the TV during camcorder
recording.
When scanning channels, some of them are skipped over.
The channel cannot be changed.
Channel settings that were made manually seem to have
changed or disappeared.
Malfunction occurs and the unit cannot be power off.
