Auto Set Up

Auto Guide Program Number Set

ATurn on the unit.
Press 1 on the unit or remote control. The Country Set display appears on the TV screen.
BSelect your country.
NOTES:
If you have selected BELGIUM or SUISSE, go to stepC.
If you have selected MAGYARORSZÁG, CESKÁ REPUBLIKA,
POLSKA or OTHER EASTERN EUROPE, press OK. The Clock
Set screen appears. Set the clock manually (pg. 74), then
go to step D.
If you have selected any other country name, go to stepD.
CSelect the language.
NOTE:
The selected language is only available on the screen for VHS
deck.
Set manually the on-screen language for the DVD deck.

After the 1 button on the unit or remote control is pressed
for the first time to power on the unit, by simply selecting
your country*, the Auto Set Up function sets the tuner
channels, clock** and Guide Program numbers
automatically.
* If you live in Belgium (BELGIU M) or Switzerland (SUISSE), you also
need to select your language.
**If you live in Hungary (MAGYARORSZÁG), Czech Republic (
C
ESKÁ
REPUBLIKA), Poland (POLSKA) or other countries in Eastern Europe
(OTHER EASTERN EUROPE), set the clock manually.
Before starting, make sure of the following:
The TV aerial cable should be connected to the unit.
The unit’s mains power cord should be connected to a
mains outlet.
The TV should be set to its AV mode (with AV connection
pg. 9) or UHF channel 36 (with RF connection
pg. 9).
Slide the TV/VCR/DVD switch to the right.
NOTE:
If you have connected your TV to
the unit with RF connection and
the on-screen display appearing
on UHF channel 36 looks
distorted, perform “Video
Channel Set” on page 73.
Press rt to move the highlight bar (pointer) to your country’s name.
(Example) DEUTSCHLAND is
selected.
Press OK. The Language Set display appears on the TV screen.Press rt to move the highlight bar (pointer) to the language of your choice.
(Example) DEUTSCH is selected.
