About this manual

This manual mainly explains operations using the buttons and controls on the remote control. You can also use the buttons on the center unit if they have the same or similar names (or marks) as those on the remote control.

If operation using the remote control is different from that using the center unit, then it is explained.

Times given for various operations are for reference only. Actual time will vary somewhat.

The following marks are used in this manual:

:Special warnings and cautions you need to know to obtain the best possible performance from the system.

:Specific information and hints you need to know about the features and procedures.

:Available disc types for the operations explained in each section. Unavailable disc types are shown in halftone color.

Precautions

Installation of the system

Select a place which is level, dry and neither too hot nor too cold—between 5°C and 35°C.

Leave sufficient distance between the system and the TV.

Do not use the system in a place subject to vibration.

Power cord

Do not handle the power cord with wet hands.

A small amount of power (2.5 watts) is always consumed while the power cord is connected to the wall outlet.

When unplugging the power cord from the wall outlet, always pull the plug, not the power cord.

To prevent malfunction of the system

There are no user-serviceable parts inside. If anything goes wrong, unplug the power cord and consult your dealer.

Do not insert any metallic object into the system.

Do not use any of the nonstandard shaped discs (like a heart, flower, or credit card, etc.) available on the market.

Do not use a disc with tape, stickers, or paste on it.
