Choix de I'aiguille et tissu

Pour les coutures normales, utilisez une aiguille n°l 1 ou 14. On devrait utiliser du fil fin et une aiguille fine avec les tissus 16gers pour ne pas les endommager. Les tissus Iourds necessitent une aiguille assez grosse pour percer le tissu sans effilocher le fil de I'aiguille.

Dans un jeu d'aiguilles, il y a une aiguille de chaque grosseur 11, 14, 16, 18 et une aiguille _ bout bleu. IJaiguille _ bout bleu s'emploie pour coudre les tissus extensibles et les matieres synthetiques sans sauter de points.

Des aiguilles speciales devraient 6tre utilisees avec certains tissus. On utilise une aiguille _ jean dont I'extremit6 est aceree pour piquer les 6toffes denses comme le jean et le canevas. Pour surpiquer, une aiguille _ surpiquer _ gros chas permet I'emploi de ills plus 6pals. Les aiguilles pour le cuir percent des petits trous darts le cuir et le daim, ce qui permet au fil de passer dans les trous.

Verifiez regulierement 1'etatde vos aiguilles, qui peuvent etre emoussees ou ebrechees. Les accrocs et les fils tires dans les tricots, les soles fines et les 6toffes semblables _ la sole sont definitifs et sent souvent provoques par des aiguilles abTmees.
