Windows 2000 Installation & Setup

Overview

After physically installing the EtherFast 10/100 USB Network Adapter in your computer, follow these instructions to install the network driver. The installation procedure for the network driver could vary slightly depending on which version of Windows 2000 you are using, and on your current system configuration. If at any time during the installation you encounter problems, consult the Troubleshooting section.

Installing the Network Adapter’s Driver

1.If you haven’t already, start your computer and boot Windows 2000.

2.Windows will display the Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard box. Click Next.

3.The Install Hardware Device Drivers dialog box will appear. When Linksys USB Adapter is displayed, select “Search for a suitable driver for my device (Recommended)”. Click Next.

4.The Locate Driver Files dialog box will appear. Select the “Specify a location” option and insert the Driver Disk into your floppy drive. Click Next.

5.In the field under “Copy manufacturer’s files from” on the next screen, type “A:\WIN2000” and click OK.
