q Disc tray open/close button (5)
Opens and closes the disc tray (vpage14).
w Fast forwarding/Forward-skip button (7/9)
Plays the next track. Press and hold to fast-forward the
track (vpage14, 18, 19).
e Fast reversing/Reverse-skip button (8/6)
Returns to the start of the currently playing track. Press and
hold to fast-reverse the track (vpage14, 18, 19).
r USB port
Used to connect USB storages (such as USB memory
devices) and the USB cable supplied with iPod
(vpage10).
t Input source select button (DISC/INPUT)
This selects the input source (vpage13).
y Power operation button (X)
This turns the power on/o (vpage13).
u Headphones jack (PHONES)
Used to connect headphones.
i Headphone volume control knob (LEVEL)
Adjusts the headphone volume.
NOTE
To prevent hearing loss, do not raise the volume level
excessively when using headphones.
o Pause button (3)
Pauses playback (vpage14, 18, 19).
Q0 Stop button (2)
Stops playback (vpage14, 18, 19).
Q1 Play button (1)
Starts playback (vpage14, 18, 19).
Q2 Illumination lamp
The illumination lamp lights (blue).
Q3 Disc tray
Used to insert a disc (vpage14).
Q4 Display
This displays various pieces of information (vpage5).
Q5 Remote control sensor
This receives signals from the remote control unit
(vpage2).
Q6 STANDBY indicator
This is lit as follows according to the power status.

•Power on : O
•Standby : Red
•iPod charge standby : Orange
•Power o: O
Q7 Multi layer indicator (MULTI)
This indicator lights up when the Multi channel area of a
Super Audio CD is selected (vpage13).
Q8 DISPLAY OFF indicator
This indicator lights up when the display is turned o
(vpage15).
Features
Peripheral circuitry o function minimizes audio
output signal interference
In order to minimize noise from peripheral circuitry which
could interfere with the analog audio signal, this unit is
equipped with a peripheral circuitry o function which turns
o the digital output circuit, the display, and the illumination
lamp.
Filter switching function
Switching between 2 types of filter characteristics is
possible during playback in the Super Audio CD and CD/DAC
modes, allowing the listener to enjoy dierent shadings of
the music.
Headphone circuit component upgrade
The high-grade headphone circuit incorporates HDAM®SA2
amplifier to enable headphone listening of high quality
sound reproduction, late at night or in other such situations.
