either the 50kHz or 100kHz setting. Then press the SELECT Push-button.

4.Next continue to the BASS ENHANCER Setup Menu item. If no other changes are to be made in Setup Mode at this time, exit by pressing the RTRN (Return) Push-button.

Note: The SETUP Push-button may be also pressed to exit the setup mode.

Bass Enhancer

The MVP871 Bass Enhancer redirects low frequency sounds to the Subwoofer when a two channel audio source or other source without Low Frequency Effects (LFE) is playing. The Subwoofer needs to be active, refer to Loud- speaker Configuration on page 30. The defaut setting for Bass Enhancer is Off, to activate the Bass Enhancer Direct feature perform the following:

1.Press the SETUP Push-button on the supplied Re- mote Control

to access the On-Screen Language Setup Menu. Then press the Rightdirec- tional Push-but- ton to select the Audio Setup Tab.

Note: If there is a Disc

playing in the MVP871, press the STOP Push-but- ton twice before pressing the SETUP Push-button.

2.Use the Downdirectional Push-button followed by the Rightdirectional Push-button on the Remote Control to select BASS ENHANCER. Refer to figure 52.

3.Use the Rightdirectional Push-button followed by the Upor Downdirectional Push-buttons to select the ON setting. Then press the SELECT Push-button.

4.Next continue to the COMPRESSION Setup Menu item. If no other changes are to be made in Setup Mode at this time, exit by pressing the RTRN (Return)

Compression

Watching a movie with a wide dynamic range late at night could disturb others not viewing the movie. The MVP871 Compression feature reduces the dynamic range, allowing enjoyment of the movie without disturbing others. Select the Dolby Digital Sound Track (DVD Disc Menus) and to activate the Compression feature perform the following:

1.Press the SETUP Push-button on the supplied Remote Control to access the On-Screen Language Setup Menu. Then press the Rightdirectional Push-button to select the Audio Setup Tab.

Note: If there is a Disc playing in the MVP871, press the STOP Push-button twice before pressing the SETUP Push-button.

2.Use the Downdirectional Push-button followed by the Rightdirectional Push-button on the Remote Control to select COMPRESSION. Refer to figure 53.

3.Use the Right

directional Push-button followed by the Upor Downdirec- tional Push-but- tons to select the ON setting. Then press the SELECT Push- button.

4.Next continue to the RATINGS Setup Menu item. If no other changes are to be made in Setup Mode at this time, exit by pressing the RTRN (Return) Push-button.
