3.17.Leading Identifiers

They are characters added by the decoder to the leading positions of each code which inform the host system of the type of symbology decoded. For example, they can be used when several codes with different symbologies appear on a product or document.

Two types of identifiers can be used:

3.17.2.Identifier with Three Characters

The first character is ] (5D hexa), the second one identifies the type of symbology read, the third one indicates an option in the symbology. Please consult the AIM standard to obtain the complete list of identifiers.
