Using Caller ID

The calling line identification (caller ID) feature lets you see who is calling before you answer.

If the caller’s name is stored in your phonebook, the phone automatically displays the 1DPH (or ,FRQ￿,' and a distinctive 5LQJHU￿,', when one is assigned). Otherwise, the phone displays the caller’s phone number. To create or change a phonebook entry, see page 80.

If caller ID information is not available, your phone displays the message ,QFRPLQJ &DOO.

Outgoing Calls: Other phones can display your phone

number when you call them or send a message. To hide your number for the next call or message, press M> 0RUH

Depending on your phone settings and the type of subscription you have, the call may be diverted to another number, or the caller may hear a busy signal.
