Unknown characters are characters the host does not recognize. When Send Bar Codes With Unknown

Characters is selected, all bar code data is sent except for unknown characters, and the scanne r emits no error

beeps. Whe n Do Not Send Bar Co des With Unkn own Characters is selected, bar code dat a is sent until the first

unknown character is encountered, and the scanner emits an error beep.
