1. Startthe engineaspreviouslyinstructedinthis
Operator'sManual.
2. Turnthekeyfrom theNORMALMOWING(Green)
positiontothe REVERSECAUTIONMODE(Yellow)
positionofthe keyswitchmodule. See Figure12.
3. DepresstheREVERSEPUSHBUTTON(Orange,
TriangularButton)atthetop, rightcornerofthe key
switchmodule.Thered indicatorlight atthetop, left
cornerofthe keyswitch modulewill beON while
activated.SeeFigure12.
4. Onceactivated(indicatorlightON), thetractorcan
bedrivenin reversewiththe cuttingblades(PTO)
engaged.
5. Alwayslookdownand behindbeforeandwhile
backingtomakesureno childrenare around.
6. Afterresumingforwardmotion,returnthekeyto the
NORMALMOWINGposition.
IMPORTANT:The REVERSECAUTIONMODEwill
remainactivateduntil:
a. Thekey is placedin either the NORMALMOW-
INGpositionor STOPposition.
b. Theoperatorleavestheseat (ModelswithElectric
PTOONLY).
c. Theoperatorengagestheparkingbrakeby fully
depressingthebrakepedalandholdingit down
whilegentlypushingthe parkingbrakebutton
inward(ModelswithManualPTOONLY).

Engaging the Parking Brake

Toengagetheparkingbrake:
1. Fullydepressthe brakepedaland holdit downwith
yourfootwhilegently pushingtheparkingbrakebutton
inward.
2. Holdthe parkingbrakebutton inwhile removingyour
footfromthe brakepedal.
3. Onceengaged,theparkingbrakebuttonand thebrake
pedalwilllock in the "down"position.
Todisengagetheparkingbrake:
1. Slightlydepressthebrakepedal.
NOTE:Theparkingbrakemust beengagedif the operator
leavestheseatwith theengine runningorthe enginewill
automaticallyshutoff.

Setting the Cutting Height

1. Selecttheheightpositionof thecuttingdeckby placing
thedeck lift leverinany ofthe sixdifferentcutting
heightnotchesonthe rightsideof the fender.
2. Adjustthe deckwheelsso thattheyare between
1A-inchandV2-inchabovethegroundwhenthetractor
ison a smooth,flatsurfacesuchas a driveway.
