speciallydesignedtoengageanddisengagesafely.A
substitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan bedangerousbynot
disengagingcompletely.Fora properworkingmachine,
usefactoryapprovedbelts.

Tochangeorreplacethe deckbelt on yourtractor,
proceedasfollows:
1. Removethebelt keeperrod(s)fromaroundthe
enginepulley.
Removethecuttingdeckas instructedearlierinthis
section.
Removethebeltguardsby removingtheself-tapping
screwsthatfastenthemto thedeck.

Carefullyloosen,butdonot remove,thedeck idler
pulleys.
Removethedeckbelt fromaroundall pulleys,including
thedeck idlerpulleysandtheelectricPTO clutch(units
withelectricPTO).
Routethenewbelt as shownin Figure26,27, and28
andretightenthedeck idlerpulleys.
Reinstallthebeltguardsremovedearlierand remount
thedeck tothetractor.
Routethebeltaround theengine pulleyandreinstall
thebeltkeeper rod(s).
