downforsmallchildren.
d. Nevercarrychildren,evenwiththe blade(s)
shutoff.Theymayfalloff andbeseriously
injuredorinterferewithsafemachineoperation.
e. Useextremecarewhenapproachingblind
corners,doorways,shrubs,treesor other
objectsthatmay blockyourvisionof a child
whomayrun intothemachine.
f. Toavoid back-overaccidents, always
disengagethecuttingblade(s) before
shiftingintoReverse.ifequipped,the
"Reverse CautionMode"shouldnotbe
usedwhen childrenorothers are around.
g. Keepchildrenawayfromhot or running
engines.Theycansufferburns froma hot
muffler.
h. Removekeywhenmachineisunattendedto

themachine.Children14yearsold andovershould
readandunderstandtheoperationinstructionsand
safetyrulesinthis manualandshould betrainedand
supervisedbyaparent.

Operation

Safe Handlingof Gasoline:
1. Toavoid personalinjuryor propertydamageuse
extremecareinhandlinggasoline.Gasolineis
extremelyflammableand the vapors are explo-
sive. Seriouspersonalinjurycanoccurwhengasoline
isspilledonyourselfor yourclothes whichcanignite.
Washyourskinand changeclothesimmediately.
a. Useonlyan approvedgasolinecontainer.
b. Neverfill containersinsideavehicleor on a
truckor trailerbedwith a plasticliner.Always
placecontainersonthe groundawayfrom
yourvehiclebeforefilling.
c. Whenpractical,removegas-powered
equipmentfromthetruckor trailerand refuelit
onthe ground.Ifthis is notpossible,then
refuelsuchequipmentona trailerwith a
portablecontainer,ratherthanfromagasoline
dispensernozzle.
d. Keepthenozzlein contactwith the rimof
thefueltank or containeropeningatall
timesuntilfuelingiscomplete.Do notusea
nozzlelock-opendevice.
e. Extinguishallcigarettes,cigars,pipesand
othersourcesofignition.
f. Neverfuelmachineindoors.
g. Neverremovegascapor addfuelwhile the
engineishotor running.Allowengineto cool
atleast twominutesbeforerefueling.
h. Neveroverfill fuel tank.Fill tank to nomore
than1/2inchbelowbottomof filler neckto
allowspaceforfuel expansion.
i. Replacegasolinecapandtightensecurely.
j. Ifgasolineis spilled,wipe it off the engine
andequipment.Moveunitto anotherarea.
Wait5minutes beforestartingtheengine.
k. Toreducefirehazards,keep machinefree of
grass,leaves,orotherdebris build-up.Clean
upoil or fuelspillageand removeanyfuel
soakeddebris.
I. Neverstorethemachineor fuelcontainer
insidewherethereis an openflame, spark
orpilot lightas on a waterheater,space
heater,furnace,clothesdryerorothergas
appliances.
m. Allowa machinetocool at leastfive minutes
beforestoring.
