Checkengineoillevelbefore eachuseas instructed
inthe EngineOperator/OwnerManualpackedwithyour
unit.Follow the instructionscarefully.
Changing Engine Oil
NOTE:Dependingontheengine modelfoundon your
tractor,itmay benecessaryto removethe tractor'sside
panelinorder to replacetheoil filter(if so equipped).
1. Popopenthe protectivecapon theendof theoil
drainvalveto exposethedrain port.See Figure20.
2. Removetheoil fill cap/dipstick fromthe oil filltube.
3. Pushtheoil drainhose(packedwiththismanual)
ontotheoil drainport. Routethe oppositeendof the
hoseintoan appropriateoilcollectioncontainerwith
acapacitygreat enoughtocollect theusedoil.
4. Afterthe oil hasfinisheddraining,pushthe oil drain
valvebackin, rotateit clockwiseto lock the valve
closedandre-capthe endof the oil drainvalveto
keepdebrisfromenteringthedrain port.
5. Servicethe oilfilter (ifsoequipped)as instructedin
theseparateEngineOperator/OwnerManualpacked
withyourunit.
Performtheabovestepsin theoppositeorder afteroil has
finisheddraining.
6. Refillthe enginewith newmotoroil as instructedinthe
EngineOperator/OwnerManualpackedwith yourunit.
IMPORTANT:Referto the EngineOperator/Owner
Manualpackedwithyourunit for informationregardingthe
quantityandproperweightof motoroil.
Air Cleaner
Servicethepre-cleaner,ifsoequipped,andcartridge/air
cleanerelementasinstructedinthe EngineOperator/
OwnerManualpackedwithyourunit.
Spark Plug(s)
Thesparkplug(s)should becleanedand thegap reset
oncea season.Sparkplugreplacementisrecommended
atthe startofeach mowingseason. RefertotheEngine
Operator/OwnerManualfor correctplug type andgap
specifications.
Lubrication

Pivot Points & Linkage
Lubricateallthe pivotpointson thedrive system,parking
brakeandlift linkageat leastoncea seasonwith lightoil.
Rear Wheels
Therearwheelsshouldbe removedfromthe axlesonce
aseason.Lubricatetheaxles and the rimswell withan
all-purposegreasebeforere-installingthem.
Front Axles
Eachendof thetractor'sfrontpivotbar maybeequipped
witha greasefitting.Lubricatewitha greasegunafter
every25hours oftractoroperation.
Cleaning the Engine And Deck
Anyfuelor oil spilledon themachineshouldbe wiped
offpromptly.Do NOTallowdebristo accumulatearound
thecoolingfinsof the engineor onany otherpart of the
machine.
IMPORTANT:The useof a pressurewashertoclean your
tractorisNOT recommended.Itmaycausedamageto
electricalcomponents,spindles,pulleys,bearingsorthe
engine.
