The D810 supports the following image quality options. See page 489 for information on the number of pictures that can be stored at different image quality and size settings.

a bit depth of 8 bits per channel (24-bit

color). TIFF is supported by a wide variety

of imaging applications.

JPEG fine

Record JPEG images at a compression ratio

of roughly 1:4 (fine quality). *

JPEG normal

JPEG

Record JPEG images at a compression ratio

of roughly 1:8 (normal quality). *

JPEG basic

Record JPEG images at a compression ratio

of roughly 1:16 (basic quality). *

NEF (RAW)+

Two images are recorded, one NEF (RAW)

JPEG fine

image and one fine-quality JPEG image.

NEF (RAW)+

NEF/JPEG

Two images are recorded, one NEF (RAW)

JPEG normal

image and one normal-quality JPEG image.

NEF (RAW)+

Two images are recorded, one NEF (RAW)

JPEG basic

image and one basic-quality JPEG image.

*Size priority selected for JPEG/TIFF recording > JPEG compression. The compression ratio is an approximation only; the actual ratio varies with ISO sensitivity and the scene recorded.
