Basic Camera Setup: The Setup Menu

Digital Zoom

Enable or disable digital zoom.

On (default setting)

When the camera is zoomed in to the maximum optical zoom position, tapping e triggers digital zoom (A25).

Off

Digital zoom will not be activated (except when shooting a movie).

BNotes on Digital Zoom

•AF area mode (A 124) is set to Center when digital zoom is in effect.

•Digital zoom cannot be used in the following situations.

-When Scene auto selector, Portrait, or Night portrait is selected in scene mode

-When shooting with the smile timer

-When Multi-shot 16 is selected for the Continuous setting

-Before movie recording begins (however, digital zoom of up to 2× can be applied while movies, other than time-lapse movies, are being recorded)

Sound Settings

Adjust the following sound settings.

Button sound

Turn button sound On (default setting) or Off. When On (default setting) is selected, beep will sound once when operations are completed successfully, twice when the camera acquires focus on the subject, and three times when error is detected. Start-up sound will also play when the camera is turned on.

Shutter sound

Choose shutter sound from On (default setting) or Off.
