NAT / Firewall

NAT (Network Address Translation al-

 

 

lows you to share the public IP ad-

multiple clients on your LAN (Local

 

 

Area Network). NAT also acts as a basic

 

 

firewall. The firewall feature protects the

 

 

PCs on your LAN from malicious attacks

 

 

from people on the Internet (e.g. DOS

 

 

attacks).

VLAN ID

 

If you decide to share this connection

 

 

with a VLAN, this field will be enabled

 

 

and you need to select your VLAN ID.

 

 

For example, if you have your Ethernet

 

 

interface in LAN Group 1 and your USB

 

 

interface in LAN Group 2 you can create

 

 

a VLAN for both groups to access each

Priority Bits

 

Set the priority bit of the Ethernet frame

 

 

if using a VLAN.
