Problem Cause/solution
w is displayed, but I cannot
make a call.
LThe handset and base unit could not
communicate for some reason, such as
interference from other electrical appliances.
Perform the following:
Move the handset and base unit away from
other electrical appliances such as
antennas and mobile phones.
– Move closer t o the base unit.
Static is heard, sound cuts in
and out. Interference from
other electrical units.
LMove the handset and base unit away from
other electrical appliances.
LMove closer to the base unit.
Lk Your unit is connected to a landline with
DSL service. We recommend connecting a
filter (contact your DSL service provider) to
the telephone line between the base unit and
the telephone line jack.
The handset does not ring. LThe ringer volume is turned off. Adjust it (page
52).
LThe night mode feature is turned on. To turn it
off, see page 58.
The base unit does not ring.*1 LThe ringer volume is turned off. Adjust it (page
59).
LThe night mode feature is turned on. To turn it
off, see page 58.
I cannot make a call. Ll Check if the 4 indicator is lit in green.
If it is not lit in green, see “4 (Status)
indicator” (page 86).
Ll You cannot make a call while the base
unit is downloading the software update. Wait
until the 4 indicator stops flashing and
changes to steady green.
LYou may have selected the wrong line by
pressing {TEL} or {IP}. Select the appropriate
line to call the phone number.
LThe base unit or another handset is in use. Try
again later.
LDial lock is turned on. To turn it off, see page
58.
