∫Changing position and size of the AF area (Only when [Ø] is selected)

If you performing any of the following operations, the screen will switch to the settings menu.

•When [Ø] is selected, press [FOCUS].

•From the menu screen, select [Ø], and press 1.

•From the Quick Menu screen, when [Ø] is selected, press [DISPLAY].

1Press 3/4/2/1 to move the AF area.

•You can set to arbitrary position of the screen. (It cannot be set to edge

of the screen)

• After moving the AF area, press [DISPLAY] to return it to the center.

2Rotate the rear dial to change the size of AF area. Rear dial right: Enlarge

Rear dial left: Shrink

• It can be changed to 4 different sizes.

3Press [MENU/SET] to set.

Note

•AF area cannot be moved during motion picture recording.

•The spot metering target can also be moved to match the AF area when using [Ù].

•Position of the AF area will return to initial state when the camera is set to Intelligent Auto Mode, when the Sleep Mode is activated, or when this unit is turned off.

•In the following cases, the AF area and size will be center, large, and not your adjusted values.

–During Digital Zoom

–When it is hard to focus due to darkness

[QUICK AF]

Applicable modes:

As long as the camera is held steady, the camera will automatically adjust the focus and focus adjustment will then be quicker when the shutter is pressed. This is useful when you do not want to miss a picture-taking opportunity.

[OFF]/[ON] Note

•The battery will be consumed faster than usual.

•Press the shutter button halfway again when it is difficult to focus on the subject.

•It does not operate during AF tracking.

•You cannot set [QUICK AF] in the following cases.

–In [PANNING], [STARRY SKY] and [FIREWORKS] in Scene Mode

–When using Manual Focus
