About RAW

RAW format refers to the original format of data that is not image-processed on the camera. Playback and Editing of RAW images require dedicated software.

Using the dedicated software, you can perform advanced editing, such as adjusting the White Balance after taking a picture. The software also allows you to save pictures in file formats that can display them on a PC (JPEG, TIFF, etc.). Pictures taken in RAW format will have higher image quality than those taken in JPEG format, but the data size will be larger.

You can develop RAW files and edit them using the software “SILKYPIX Developer Studio” by Ichikawa Soft Laboratory on the CD-ROM (supplied).
