Recording

This unit suddenly turns off during recording.

When a high ambient temperature, continuous recording in Burst Mode or of a motion picture, continuous use of a Wi-Fi connection or other conditions are causing the camera to overheat,

[ ] flashes. If a message is displayed after [ ] flashes, the camera will turn off automatically to protect itself. When this happens, some functions will be disabled until the camera cools down.

Taking pictures is not possible.

The shutter will not operate immediately when the shutter button is pressed.

Is the subject focused?

>[Focus/Release Priority] is set to [FOCUS] at the time of purchase, and so you cannot take pictures until the subject is in focus. (P146)

The recorded picture is whitish.

Picture might look whitish when lens or image sensor gets dirty with fingerprints or similar.

>If the lens is dirty turn the camera off and then gently wipe the lens surface with a soft, dry cloth.

>Refer to P342 when the image sensor gets dirty.

The recorded picture is too bright or dark.

Check that the exposure is correctly compensated. (P157)

Is the AE Lock (P155) applied incorrectly?

Multiple pictures are taken at one time.

Cancel the following settings:

Burst/Auto Bracket/[] of the self-timer (P167)

White Balance Bracket (P127)
