Inserting and Removing the Batteries/the Card (Optional)
•Check that the camera is turned off.
•Use oxyride batteries (supplied), alkaline
batteries (optional) or Ni-MH batteries
(optional).
•Prepare a card (optional).
•You can record or play back pictures
on the built-in memory when you are
not using a card. (P16)
1Slide the battery door and the
card door to open them.
2Batteries:
Insert the batteries with the + and
- poles aligned correctly.
Card:
Push it fully until it clicks being careful
about the direction you insert it.
To remove the card, push the card
until it clicks, then pull the card
out upright.
•Do not touch the connect ion terminals
on the back side of the card.
•The card may be damaged if it is not
fully inserted.
31Close the battery door and the
card door.
2Slide the battery door and the
card door to the end and then
close them firmly.
•If the card door cannot be completely
closed, remove the card, check its
direction and then insert it again.
•Select the battery type being used in
[BATTERYTYPE] in the [SETUP] menu.

•Remove the batteries after use.
•Do not remove the batteries until the
LCD monitor and the status indicator
(green) turn off as the settings on the
camera may not be stored properly.
•Do not insert or remove the batteries or
the card while this unit is turned on.
The data on the built-in memory or the
card may be damaged. Be careful
particularly while the built-in memory
or the card is being accessed. (P23)
•We recommend using Panasonic’s
card.
