
Portrait mode
≥If this mode is used indoors, the screen may flicker. If so, change the scene mode setting to [OFF].
Spotlight mode
≥If the recording subject is extremely bright, the subject may become washed out and the
periphery extremely darkened.
Surf & snow mode
≥If the subject is extremely bright, the recorded image may become washed out.
Manual focus adjustment
If auto focusing is difficult due to the conditions, then use manual focus.
≥Set the AUTO/MANUAL/FOCUS switch to MANUAL. (l 55)
1 (When MF assist function is used)
Select the menu. (l 21)
[ADVANCED] # [MF ASSIST] # [ON]
≥This function’s default setting is [ON].
2 Move the switch down and set it to FOCUS position.
≥MF assist does not work if the zoom magnification is more than 10k.
≥The part of the screen that is enlarged is not enlarged on the image actually recorded.
≥The zebra pattern does not appear on the part of the screen that is enlarged when [ZEBRA] is [ON].
AUTO
MANUAL
FOCUS
The manual focus indication [MF] and the icon shown in the illustration appear.
3 Move the cursor button to bring the subject into focus.
The centre of the screen is enlarged. The normal screen returns approximately 2 seconds after you finish bringing the subject into focus.
≥The centre of the screen is not enlarged when [MF ASSIST] is [OFF].
≥Move the AUTO/MANUAL/FOCUS switch down again to the FOCUS or AUTO position to restore to the automatic adjustment.
