Re-recording a greeting message

You can change the content of the ANS/FAX mode greeting message and mailbox greeting message from a remote location.

Call your unit.

For the ANS/FAX mode greeting message:

Press your remote ANS ID.

 

For the mailbox greeting message:

 

Press J and A, B or C (desired

 

mailbox no.). Then press the mailbox

 

password.

Press G to start recording.

 

ÁA long beep will sound.

Speak immediately after the long beep (up to

16 seconds).

 

ÁIf you pause for over 2 seconds while

 

recording, the unit will beep and stop the

 

greeting message recording. Repeat from

 

step 2 within 10 seconds.

When finished, press I.

 

ÁThe new greeting message will be played.

Turning on/off pager alert

You can remotely turn on/off the pager alert for incoming message if it has been programmed with a pager number in advance (see page 61).

Call your unit.

For the common pager alert;

Press the remote ANS ID.

 

For a mailbox pager alert;

 

Press J and the mailbox number (A, B

 

or C), then press the mailbox password.

To turn on the pager alert, press HA.

To turn off the pager alert, press HB.

To skip the greeting message

Callers can record their messages without listening to the greeting message.

After calling your unit, dial @ during the greeting message playback.

ÁThe unit will skip the rest of the greeting message and start recording.
