Making/Answering Calls Using the Base Unit

Example: If you need to dial the line access number “9” when making outside calls with a PBX:

2Dial the phone number. a

Note:

R A 3.5 second pause is inserted each time MCONFN is pressed. Repeat as needed to create longer pauses.

Answering calls

When a call is being received, the SP-PHONE indicator flashes rapidly. When a cellular call is being received, the CELL 1 or CELL 2 indicator and SP-PHONE indicator flash rapidly.

1Press MSP-PHONEN when the unit rings.

R You can also answer the cellular call by pressing MCELL 1N or MCELL 2N.

2Speak into the microphone.

3When you finish talking, press

MSP-PHONEN.

Adjusting the base unit ringer volume

n While the base unit is ringing for an incoming call:

KX-TG7621 series: page 3 Press MjN or MkN repeatedly to select the desired volume.

R To turn the ringer off, press and hold MkN until the unit beeps.

KX-TG7641 series: page 3

Press MDN or MCN repeatedly to select the desired volume.

R To turn the ringer off, press and hold MCN until the unit beeps.

Hold

This feature allows you to put an outside call on hold.

1Press MHOLDN during an outside call.

2To release hold on the cellular line:

Press MCELL 1N or MCELL 2N.

R A handset user can take the call: MCELLN*1 a MSELECTN

*1 The call is taken when:

only 1 cellular phone is registered.

the line is set to make cellular calls (page 22).

To release hold on the landline: Press MSP-PHONEN.

R A handset user can take the landline call by pressing MN.

Note:

R While a cellular line is on hold, the CELL 1 or CELL 2 indicator flashes red. While a landline call is on hold, the SP-PHONE indicator flashes.
